I’ve got this friend, Brooke, and she says some crackerjack things like this little pearl:

What gifts are you keeping from the world because you are unwilling to suck at it?

There’s Buddha and then there’s Brooke.

Either can restore my sanity.

I was thinking about how I haven’t blogged for awhile and all the excuses I have like “the mechanics of it still challenge me”, “I don’t know what to write”, “people will think I’m lame”, and my favorite “I suck at this.” And this morning I remembered Brooke and her wisdom gem. So here I am blogging again. I also wanted to put this out there: If anyone reading this blog has a question or a topic they’d like me to write about, please let me know. When I’m writing to help someone, that’s when I could care less if I suck or not. That’s when I know, it’s not about me. Thank you, Brooke!

I just want to say that I completely agree with Brooke’s statement. A few years ago I came to the same realization, and have found such joy when I am able to conquer that fear of failing! I still struggle sometimes, but I remind myself that if I act out of love, someone will find blessings in my gift. On another topic, I would love to hear your thoughts on what to do when you are angry with those you love most?
